Terms, refunds and privacy

Plain English, because this is a small service run by one person.

What you’re paying for

A$39 buys one page for one person. You can invite as many people as you like to add a memory, a photo and a voice message. Prices are in Australian dollars and you pay once. There’s no subscription.

Refunds

If your page doesn’t work as described, tell us and we’ll fix it or refund you in full. You also have rights under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing here takes those away.

How long pages stay online

Every page stays online for at least 12 months from when it’s sent. The person it’s for can also save their keepsake card to their phone.

Keep it kind

Don’t add anything illegal, hateful or hurtful, or photos or recordings you don’t have the right to share. The organiser can hide or delete any memory, and we can remove content that breaks these rules.

What we store

The details entered when a page is started, the names, memories, photos and voice recordings people add, and any pictures painted for the page. We don’t ask for accounts or email addresses. Your browser remembers pages you started on your own device so you can find them again; that stays on your device.

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number. The site runs on Cloudflare. There are no ads and no tracking cookies.

What is sent to AI

Some parts of a page are made with Cloudflare’s AI service. Cloudflare doesn’t keep what it’s sent or use it to train its AI.

To arrange the poem, the written memories are sent to it. To paint backdrops, the line the organiser writes about the person’s world is sent. When the organiser taps “Paint a scene” for a memory, that memory’s words are sent, so a place can be described and painted.

Names are taken out before a picture is painted, and the pictures show places and things, not people. Photos and voice recordings are never sent to AI. Painted pictures are labelled “Painted by AI”. The music is made in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere for it.

Who can see a page

Anyone who has its link. Links are long and random, and pages are hidden from search engines, but treat a page like a private letter rather than a locked safe.

Deleting things

The organiser can delete any memory, photo or recording at any time from their page. Deleting a memory also deletes any picture painted for it. Painted backdrops nobody chose are deleted a week after the page is sent. A photo or recording that was uploaded but never became part of a memory (say the memory didn’t send) is deleted a day later. To delete a whole page, with its painted pictures, contact us with its link and we’ll remove it.

Credits

The music is played on piano samples from the “Salamander Grand Piano V3” by Alexander Holm, CC BY 3.0 (read the licence). We shortened and re-encoded the recordings so they load quickly. The strings, and the music itself, are made in your browser for each page.
